In this guide, you’ll find the step-by-step instructions to upgrade to the Ice Staff in Origins, including a short guide of how to obtain the blue discs, gramophone , and complete your base Ice Staff. Like my other guides, this one includes specific screenshots, maps, as well as other codes for puzzles to make the process as easy as it can be.
With the remastered edition of Origins being released with Zombies Chronicles and with many players playing the backwards-compatible Black Ops 2 version on Xbox One, it makes perfect sense to go through how to upgrade the Ice Staff upgrade process once more.
Ice Staff Ice Staff is visually one of the most beautiful in Origins It instantly freezes zombies and watching them shatter an experience that is more than enjoyable. The base version, however, is a bit weak as frozen creatures can end being a block to your escape in the event that you’re surrounded by a large horde.
Thankfully, the new Ice Staff is arguably the most powerful staff available due to the fact that its an attack that is charged (or super attack if that’s what you prefer) creates a huge blizzard that traps zombies in the vicinity. This attack is the ultimate high round ally as well as an excellent camp spot weapon.
Let’s begin with the basic Ice Staff and how you obtain the Ice Staff…

How to get the Ice Staff
As with all staffs like every other staff in Origins, players will require three parts: 1 colored disc, one black disc and a phone to access the staff. For Ice Staff, Ice Staff the parts are blue, the disc blue, and the gramophone needs to be used to access the portal BLUE (Ice portal).
Disc Location
Blue discs are in the building right next the Generator 2. On the table in front or on the weapon box shelf located next to the door in the rear.
Part Locations
It is important to note that the Ice Staff parts have no specific locations, but they do have some specific rules. The players must wait until it’s cold and then dig the rubble piles on floor. This usually involves opening each section of the map and completing each dig site until you have three.
Black Disc
The Black Disc is used in conjunction along with the Gramophone to make it possible to access the lower levels in the site of excavation. It’s usually found in three different locations:
- In a box, the at the bottom of the walkway that leads to the excavating location (Generator two sides)
- On a box, the other the excavation site’s side, close to the entrance leading to the church
- The top part of the site in a wheelbarrow next to PaP
Gramophone
It is believed that the Gramophone is always in an excavation area that is central (dig site) located one floor down on the ground. The players should put their Gramophone onto the table to reveal the secret sublevel that houses the statues of the Staff. It is a good idea that you always go to the lower section in the site of excavation, and immediately grab the gramophone to ensure that you don’t have to come back later to retrieve it.
Final step
When you have the components disc, gramophone and disc head for Generator 6 (back of the church). Enter the tunnel then place the gramophone onto the table, and wait for the blue door to open. Enter the crazy area and take the crystal off the blue pedestal, and then quit the area by re-building the blue portal.
Then, return to the excavation site in central location then go down to the lowest level, and construct the staff with the statue.
Upgrade Steps
1. Solve the Ice Staff Puzzle
The Ice Staff equipped go to the craziness through Blue Portal. Take a quick look up and note the blue-colored slabs on them. Also, take note of this blue icon in the walls.
Find the solution to the puzzle making use of an Ice Staff to shoot the right slab onto the ceiling, which is the same as the symbol that is on the wall. Repeat the process several times. 2. Shoot the Gravestones
Get out of the craziness and return to the world outside. Shoot 3 gravestones using an Ice Staff and then shoot using an ordinary weapon.
Looking towards excavation site from Mud pool (adjacent to Soul Box mud pool) on the on the Generator 6 map.
Mud pool that has Soul Box adjacent to Generator 6 Jug area. Gravestone is located outside the boundary of the map, and faces towards Jug.
Outside the rear of the Generator
2 structure (where there’s a lot of dirt).
You can find the robots’ arm just in the middle of the map border, the gravestone is next to it.
3. Line Up the Gems
Take a walk down the lower levels at the bottom of the location (where there are the Staff statues stand) and observe these circular rings that are floating over. Each ring is made up of four different colours germs that are on the sides. It is necessary to rotate the ring to ensure that all BLUE gems are aligned.
To pull this lever, press the levers that are situated in the lower part of the excavation area, in wooden platforms for scaffolding alongside the walkways, etc. They appear as if they are power outlets.
When all the rings are aligned After that, utilize your Ice Staff to shoot the blue orb that is at in the middle of rings. This will send it upwards, and then through the rings.
4. Charge the Staff (Collect Souls)
Return to the crazed area by using your BLUE portal. Put the Ice Staff in the pedestal that you first obtained the gem. Then kill 2-30 zombies within the area to recharge the staff.
When you’re done, grab this staff, and you’ll have an upgraded copy to use! !
